In no particular order – these are all important to me.
KINDNESS
I believe in being kind. I don't know where the idea that being ruthless was the way for business leaders to become successful, to me it doesn't make sense. People start to shine when kindness is given. They do their best when treated kindly. Happy people are more productive, more creative and motivated – in both life and at work. My guiding quote comes from Aesop: "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted"
LAUGHTER & CHEERFULNESS
We live in a world where terrible things are happening. Wars. Conflict. Famine. Floods. Terror. Robbing the world of it's resources. These things are not funny. They need deep thought, careful consideration and love to begin the healing process. But when in my work when we find tangled knots in our lives - mine and yours - that we have, at least in part, created for ourselves, then seeing the funny side is very healing. Laughter allows us to see how daft we have been, and it also releases us so that we can start to put things right. My nature is to be cheerful – so most of the time I am quietly cheerful. I bless it and try to share it with everyone.
TRUTH AND INTEGRITY
How I view a situation will be different from someone else viewing the same situation. Whose view is the truth? I have found it's rarely black and white. As a coach I tell the truth as I see it and use my integrity to guide me. It is not my role to tell you what the truth is – that is for you to decide – but I can and do share my truth so you can see a bigger picture.
Living fully in integrity with yourself, with others, with our world is not always easy. I sometimes see the irony in my own life – like driving fast to get to a meditation circle because I'm running late :-) but trying, always trying means one day I might just get there fully too.
CARING
Most of us don't truly look after ourselves: we do just enough to get by. I am stepping into caring far more about me, for I have realised that most of my life, I too have only done 'just enough'. Caring means treating yourself and others very well – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. When you begin looking after yourself very well, you finally reach a point of no longer running on empty. At this point, it becomes easy to give love and abundance to others. Increasingly my view of caring extends out to our planet. I care deeply about what we are doing – and not doing to our world. I want to be able to give more 'caring' out to the world. I hope to help others to starting caring first and foremost about themselves more and as they become 'full' they too can give more.
LEARNING AND CURIOSITY
I am naturally curious. "What's around the next corner?", "How do you do that?", "What does it do?", "How do you feel about that?" "How can I achieve that?" and so on, forever... :-)
I usually learn by diving in and expect I will be able to swim – my positive nature at play. It's not always the best approach (as I have found out!) if you discover you've just dived into shark invested waters. I also believe though that you learn so much when things go wrong and you have to then put them right. These days I read and listen more and talk less - that too helps also to expand my knowledge. When I have leant something – I want always to share it with others.
NATURE
I value the beauty and wonder of nature. I never tire of seeing the beautiful coastline of my part of the world. The changes of the seasons reminds me of the natural cycle of life. I'm inspired and deeply touched when I'm a place of natural beauty for it fills me like nothing else I can.

Laughter is the best medicine
This photo of me was taken a couple of years ago – and still makes me smile. My friend Chris was going to take a few photos of me. I went to hop on the stool, not realising the seat wasn't firmly in place. As it clicked into position and the seat dropped down, I almost fell off. I had the giggles and Chris caught my laughter in this photo.
